Heya!

A long time user of LimeSurvey, first time poster.

For my new job I created a domain and installed the newest RC of LimeSurvey scripts. Everything working like a charm and after I made a survey I started working on the layout. Made a template from scratch and things were coming along nicely.

Suddenly, however, the whole site went blank. No errors, just every page I tried to recall returned a blank screen. After trying several things I decided to reinstall the scripts and use a new database. Installation worked perfectly, but after I deleted the Install-directory I once again got the blank page.

Hello,

Did you have access at the apache/php error log ?

Maybe there are a problem in your config.php file ?

Hi,

I have the same issue after upgrading from 1.90+ b9642 to latest 1.91+ b10060 - I did upgrade following docs.limesurvey.org/Upgrading+from+a+pre...tions+for+LimeSurvey (choosed to remove all file, untar new tarball, replace config.php with backuped version), my http://site/admin works perfectly including database upgrade, but entering http:/site/ or running survey test from admin interface results in blank screen.

Error log says:

PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/vhosts/site/index.php on line 2914

I'm using PHP 5.3.6, nothing was changed in PHP or Apache configuration since yesterday, when 1.90+ version was working properly.

Weird thing is my site is working perfectly again. I went on a well-deserved holiday for a few days and when I returned the site worked again. I haven't tampered with it, so I ain't got the faintest idea what did the trick...

Did you try to change the template?

Yes - the interesting thing is that when I log in as "grzes" (my user, owner of the survey), and edit survey configuration, I can see only "default" template. When I log in as "admin", I can see all templates and can set other then default for this survey. Is is expected behaviour?

Nevertheless, even if I change template for my survey, and run "test survey" as admin, I get to blank page with the same error in Apache log. Also main page is blank.

I didn't have customized templated in my previous installation, so I got current templates directory by unpacking 1.91+ tarball. The access rights should be fine:

Stupid me - user grzes did not have permission to other templates.

I changed it, but anyway, the main site and testing survey is blank.

Hmm, there seem to be still quite a few issues with 1.91. I have seen it is considered to be stable, but there was no information on the website of the release of 1.91.
Have a look at the manual! It is a really valuable source for information. Here some helpful links:

That's right, on the other hand when you enter "Downloads" section (www.limesurvey.org/en/download) it says:

Download LimeSurvey 1.91+

Anyway, I just noticed that there is a new (today's) build 10061 and Release Notes say:

Changes from 1.91 (build 10060) to 1.91+ (build 10061) -Fixed issue #5158: Missing backslash in index.php gives throws a "unexpected T_STRING error" (shnoulle)

edit: I installed it and I can see my start page and test surveys :-)

This will solve the problem. I had this same issue and adding backslash helped.

You do not need to make new installation, you can only backslash (like I did) at limesurvey\index.php (line 2914).

This:
.submit();"
Should be this:
.submit();\"

Or just copy index.php from new build to your installation.
