I've tried to find an answer to this question but didn't find yet, so I ask here:

When a participant saves the survey to resume later, they ar prompted to create an username/password, and they can enter an email address as well. Is it possible to (maybe automatically?) save this email address in the "email" field of the token list?

I would like to be able to send reminders, but in my initial list of participants I don't have their email address (only the physical address, where I will send a letter with their own token).

Actually it's not possible, i don't know how it can be included , but all is possible.

I think you have to have a look at save.php in limesurvey source.

one way to do it (manually) is to extract the info directly from the database (with myphpadmin or so) and add it to the token list...

This will only work if your survey is non anonymous. Otherwise you won't know which user from the token table currently fills out tehe survey and wants to save and return later.

I checked the tables and it's gonna take some work but is doable
