Hallo,

Bernd

From what version to what version? 2.00 to 2.05 or 2.05 to a plus version?

Via ftp go to /application/config.php and at the end change debug from 0 to 2 and report back what you see

Hi,

thanks for the swift reply; I think it was the version before the latest one, since I normally applied an update when available.

I have downloaded the config.php and have modified the line

'debug'=>0, to 'debug'=>2,

Do I have now to replace the config.php on the server with this modified version? And what exactly should I see then and where?

Thanks, Bernd

Modify your config.php on the server as there is info about your database connection in that file. When you run that you get detailed information about the error

I copied the modified version of config.php to the server.

I am not so experienced, what means "to run it"? I cannot access the installition at all from the browser as usual as admin. How can I run it?

You can "run" a file on the server by accessing the URL of it on the server.
Have a look at the manual! It is a really valuable source for information. Here some helpful links:

I tried it...domain name/application/config/config.php but it says frbidden to access...the problem is apparently not the lime survey installation itself....when accessing an active survey, it works, but not the admin page. Error message see below... I do not know how to handle that..

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
