I created a sample survey here with 1.92RC5:
demo192.limesurvey.org/index.php?sid=77211&lang=en

I put filters on questions Q2 and Q3 (Q2 displayed only if "Yes" to Q1, and Q3 displayed only if "No" to Q1). On the PDF version (queXML export), there should be "Skip to" tags related to the filters: if "No" to Q1, skip to Q3. But the tags don't appear.

I used the "Relevance" to write the filters, I don't know if I should have used another way...

Any idea?

Thanks!
U.

Both the 1.91 and 1.92 demos have printable surveys that show the conditions (although in slightly different ways):
(a) 1.91: demo.limesurvey.org/admin/admin.php?acti...ablesurvey&sid=77211
(b) 1.92: demo192.limesurvey.org/admin/admin.php?a...ablesurvey&sid=77211

Both generate identical queXML export files (the PDF part), neither of which show the conditions. According to the wiki, queXML export does not support conditions; neither does it support some question types.

So, this appears to be a long-standing issue. I've never worked with queXML export myself, so I don't know how it works or how well it is supported. I also doubt that it includes the relevance or validation messages from 1.92.

Strange... I was sure I saw those tags once, but I can't reproduce them. Besides, one of our researchers showed me a PDF export with "skip to" tags, asking me how to translate them -- I thought it came from LimeSurvey, but maybe not...

I'll check that. Thanks for your hints!

Can you attach the PDF you are talking about?

Here are the PDF document *produced from LimeSurvey*, and the *.lss that produced it. The researcher came to me because she wanted to translate the tags, and she also didn't understand why some filters produced "skip to tags" (question A3 in the example) and some didn't (question D4)...

lives-nccr.ch/tmp/quexmlpdf_92199_fr.pdf
lives-nccr.ch/tmp/limesurvey_survey_92199.lss

I didn't follow the process to build the questionnaire, so I don't know if she entered everything in LimeSurvey or if she imported a part of it from another source.

Hmm, I have never worked with queXML. I think they have their own forums, maybe on sourceforge. It might be more useful to ask your question there.
Details might also depend on the Limesurvey version being used.

This was produced with LimeSurvey 1.92 RC5. I guess it is pretty complicated to convert conditions from LS (where conditions are put on the filtered questions) to paper (where conditions are put on the filtering questions).

I made other tests, and it seems that the "skip to" tags are not put with the yes/no type as condition... Still working on that ;-)

The *.zip file produced with the "queXML Export" in LimeSurvey is produced by LimeSurvey, right? Or is it entirely based on queXML tools?

I did a mathematical analysis of this a few years ago.

Once conditions get past a certain level of complexity, it is impossible to generate skip-to tags associated with individual answers.

In general, if a relevance equation references more than one variable, or uses compound logic (like "A or B", or "C and D"), generating skip-to tags ranges from incredibly difficult to impossible. So, there is no effort of which I'm aware to have LS try to generate skip-to tags.

By contrast, any skip-to tag on a paper instrument can be easily converted to relevance logic.

Difficult job, indeed! But as the *.xml file is included, we can use it to manually put the tags and produce the pdf with queXML tools.
