We are planning to release a first Limesurvey 2.0 alpha version this month. If you help us testing we hope to get it stable soon.

Some of our developers offer advanced, paid support. So if you need a helping hand don't hesitate to contact us.

I always test any version of LS, since our company uses it. Trying to convince them to donate, but hitting a brick wall atm :) no doubt the same will happen with paid support.

one question tho about 2.0, will it have backward compatibility with previous versions. iow can you just update a 1.91+ version to 2.0?

It should be possible to update from 1.x to 2.0. You can grab the current 2.0 development branch from our SVN, create a copy of your current system and then test.

200 Limesurvey installations? Are you running a competetive service to www.LimeService.com :-)

That is really huge. You are welcome to test the update procedure and report bugs.

Haha no, they all run on our intranet, but I guess it works like LimeService does, its one big farm of LimeSurveys :)

200 installation on an intranet ouch ...

Did you have a look at the security part to remove some installation ? You can attribute each user to some group, and according some access to each questionnaire for group/people etc ...

Same for template using etc .

;)

all 200 installations point to the same code base (symlink) they only have a seperate tmp and upload dir. And a sperate config.php + database. so if we update a template all limesurveys get it. and if we update to a newer version it is just one update.

Access to the limesurveys is done outside of limesurvey in a portal we build arround it so that it is single sign-on.

Really interesting. So you have one installation for each customer?

What do you mainly use Limesurvey for at your company and what kind of company is that?

yeah each customer can get a installation for free, without us interfering. They can just click on "create new LimeSurvey tool" and an install script completes it for them

It creates a new database, creates a new config.php, creates a new directory and symlinks to the base code for most except the tmp and upload. So they can create a survey within seconds after clicking the link. It also sets permissions automaticly. Best thing is that they can never interfere with someone else his survey.

We use limesurvey for alot of things: elections, conventions (will you be there or not, what do you want to eat etc), simple questionaires, Customer relations. basicly anything you could think of. But the main goal was to replace the tooling we used for employee satisfaction surveys. Needless to say the implementation was a big succes as we are getting close to 1k surveys being done over the past 2 years

My company is a government department
