Hi,

We are using LimeSurvey for a large survey (about 500 questions, 6 languages) and we installed everything (LAMP, LimeSurvey, questions) on netbooks (2GB RAM, 1GHz CPU, with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS).

People are experiencing a lag between the questions, after clicking the "Next" button — typically 4 seconds — which makes the respondents impatient.

I tried to keep only 2 languages, to change the value of RAM in php.ini (1024M), but this lag is always present. I suppose it is due to the time necessary to write in the database.

Is there a way of tuning something (php.ini? LimeSurvey?) so that it is quicker to pass from one question to the next one?
