in the single choice question, we have to add the question answers.
in the multiple choice question, "question answers" changed to "subquestion"
actually, they are the same thing.

we can also find other "same thing" in different names in limesurvey.
relevance, condition, filter. they can simply be "if then syntax".

i don't understand why LIME make the simple logic to complicated!!!

Each program have its own logic... unfortunately, everyone doesn't have the same :p

Developers have made choices of variables, that's never simple.

By the way, I agree with you, sometimes it's hard not to get lost.

Hello,

Question and sub-question are a DB column in the table.

Multichoice sub-question ARE NOT answers, because each subquestion have answer : YES/NO.

It's a logical error to say answers for sub-question.

AND:

If you have remark on langage used : please fill a bug report !

1. The difference between a single choice question and a question with subquestions is that at the first one you can only mark one answer while for the others, you can mark one item for each subquestion.
E.g. a multiple choice question asking for "Please check each brand you know" could also be an array question like
"Do you know brand...
X - yes/no
Y - yes/no
Z - yes/no"

So though this might be a little irritating, it makes sense.

In general, if you are not sure about such things, feel free to ask at the Limesurvey IRC and read the manual. This link provides a very good overview: manual.limesurvey.org/Question_types#An_...tion_of_subquestions

2. If anything is unclear at the manual, feel free to improve the text. Our manual is a wiki and everyone can and should improve it.

3. Eskimo's have ~20 different words for "snow". Please blame them first :-)
