Hi,
When I am pretesting my survey on Internet Explorer the formatting seems to be off. Some pages have the text and logos appearing off the page. But this is not the case when I use FireFox or Chrome.

I did not change any of the browser settings when I was customizing my template.

Is this only a problem because I am yet to activate my survey and will it go away once the survey is activated?

Thanks,
Nkem.

If it is a problem with your template you can test easily: what happens when you open your survey in the non modified default template?
Have a look at the manual! It is a really valuable source for information. Here some helpful links:

Hi when I open my survey with a non modified bluengrey template, my logo is shifted even further off the page. But this only occurs when I use Internet Explorer. I do not want to make any changes that will affect how my participants using FireFox or Chrome may use it.

I think I will have to shift the logo to be left justified. This is strange because I have 2 logos using the same customized template but only one survey is having this formatting issues.

If it includes your logo, then it is already modified, isn't it?

Could you try it without a customization at all?

my logo in the survey was inserted into the body of the welcome message, so it is not customized. I should say my image, not logo, is still shifted to the right.

Ahhh, ok, this is a totally different issue then.

So you say that for another survey and another image this is totally fine?

Have you tried to delete the image and insert it again?
How did you insert the image anyway?

I didnt try to delete and then insert the image again, I will try that. I inserted it using the image insertion method LimeSurvey has. I uploaded it through the URL function. I will try deleting the image and inserting it again. That being said, the banner where the survey title is located appears shorter on the right side.

I will try creating a new template with the same features, that might work as LimeSurvey can be tricky at times. I thought it had something to do with Internet Explorer as this problem is only apparent when I administer the survey using this internet browser.

It probably has something to do with the Internet Explorer and the HTML/CSS code used to insert it.

As there is no way to see the problem and look at the source code this is a lot of guesswork.

I think I may have figured it out. The latest version of IE is 9, and in the template, for the survey, the IE version only ranges from 6 to 8, so if I add this

<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
<title>{SURVEYNAME}</title>
<meta name="generator" content="LimeSurvey www.limesurvey.org" />

<!-- The following line includes template.css and if an RTL-language is used template-rtl.css -->
{TEMPLATECSS}

<!--[if lte IE 6]>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{TEMPLATEURL}ie_fix_6.css" />
<![endif]-->
<!--[if IE 7]>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{TEMPLATEURL}ie_fix_7.css" />
<![endif]-->
<!--[if IE 8]>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{TEMPLATEURL}ie_fix_8.css" />
<![endif]-->
<!--[if lte IE 9]>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{TEMPLATEURL}ie_fix_9.css" />
<![endif]-->

It might fix the problem.
