Nkem, that in itself will not fix the problem. That is just a conditional inclusion of another stylesheet.

It says "if the browser is IE and less than version 9, then include the ie_fix_9.css file".

If you have not created an "ie_fix_9.css" file, nothing will happen, and if you did, it will only affect IE6/7/8.

If you want to affect all IE, then create a file called ie_fix.css in your template directory, add some styles to it and use:
<!--[if IE]>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{TEMPLATEURL}ie_fix.css" />
<![endif]-->

Having said that, if you can activate sample surveys, we may be able to solve the problem without including any more stylesheets.

Hi,

Here is the link to my active survey.

survey.med.utoronto.ca/index.php?sid=84555&lang=en

Thanks!

Does this file I create go in the css or just in the startpage.pstpl?

Hmm...I don't see any problem in IE7/8/9. Can you give us a screenshot of the issue?

Hi,

On my computer it is a little better, but if you notice, the blue banner on the top doesnt go all the way to the right like is should. Also a colleague of my tested it and she said that- "The text runs onto the light blue border down the right side-(this is distracting)"

I have attached a screen shot of the page.

Thanks for your help again.

Sorry for posting the pictures so many times. As you can see from the first one, the blue banner is off. The picture and text in the welcome page body appear fine with my computer's view, but I would imagine this issue will arise when participants are doing my survey.

Okay, I see it now .

The problem is that when the browser window width is reduced, the big image full of logos (partners?) is forcing its parent element to overflow the container element.

How about making that image responsive. That is to say that as the browser window is re-sized or the survey is viewed on a narrow screen, the image will automatically re-size itself to fit.

Add the following to the end of template.css. This will make the image 90% as wide as it's container up to a maximum of 1100 pixels. The height will automatically scale as the width changes.
.welcome-table {
	width: 100%;
}

.welcome-table img {
	width: 90% !important;
	height: auto !important;
	max-width: 1100px !important;
}

Now clear your browser cache, refresh the page and adjust the browser width. You will see the image magically change size :cheer:.

Hi,

I just added that to the end of my template.css, and nothing seemed to have happened. I cleared my browser history like you suggested. I will try it again in 10 minutes just to make sure.

But thanks for your help thus far :)
