I am new to hosting, but made several surveys on a localhost set up before attempting to host it online.

This is the error message I see.

An error occurred uploading your file. This may be caused by incorrect permissions in your /www/docs/limesurvey/tmp folder.

It also pops up when I try to edit templates.
Any advice is appreciated thank you.
The administrator has disabled public write access.

You should follow the installation manual, especially about permissions:
