Hiding a flash player in IE causes flash player to fail playing (LimeService) 2 years 6 months ago #78023

Hi,

Using LimeService.

I have several IE users who completed my survey reporting an issue about an embedded flash (audio) file not playing for them.

It seems that the problem is due to this code:
<span style="visibility: hidden;">
I'm using this code to hide the flash player (which starts playing automatically when the page loads). Removing this code seems to solve the problem in IE. Unfortunately, I still want the player to be invisible to the particiapnts.

I created a test survey with this problematic question (here).
It works just fine in FF or Chrome, but in IE the player won't start.

Can anyone help?
Thanks,
David

P.S. here's the code for the whole question:
<span style="visibility: hidden;">
	<object data="/upload/surveys/15477/flash/player.swf" height="20" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="200">
		<param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" />
		<param name="loop" value="false" />
		<param name="menu" value="false" />
		<param name="quality" value="low" />
		<param name="movie" value="/upload/surveys/15477/flash/player.swf" />
		<param name="FlashVars" value="mp3=/upload/surveys/15477/flash/a.mp3&amp;autoplay=1&amp;showloading=always" />
	</object>
</span>

Maybe you can use :

<span class="hide">

The hide class is in position:absolute;left:-9999em the don't show at screen.

But why hide the flash player ?

Thanks, that worked!

I want to hide it as a way to disable the stop/pause button and to prevent participants from messing around with the progress bar.
