I am having an issue that was not a problem last time I tested the questionnaire. However, since my last test we installed the suhosin package and did the setting changes.

Now, when I test the survey, I cannot get past the second page (or question 1), as there is no ‘next’ button.

I have had this issue one other time with a different questionnaire. I deleted the question and recreated it and that solved the problem. The question is a boiler-plate question type. I tried this solution on my current survey: I copied the question and saved it. Then I deleted question 1 and re-created it. It did work, I cannot get past the first question, as no back/next button is present. I also tried to change the question type. I made it a check box, but still, the next button which allows you to continue through the survey does not appear.

Please help. This is a very large survey with many many questions and lots of skip logic...I was doing a final test before we deploy it and now this happened.

1. Which Limesurvey version do you use?

2. Can you reproduce this with every survey and every question type and different browsers?

3. Which template do you use? Did you try the default template?

4. Can you post a link for testing?

It is version 1.90

I have tried using different browsers and that makes no difference. The weird thing is, I have tested it many times as I built logic into the questionnaire. This question worked just fine yesterday.

It is a custom template based on the default

Hello,

You use HTML editor, and directly copy paste from MS-Word.

Remove all content from question, use full screen edit mode, and use the "Paste from word" button.

I don't look completely, but i'm most sure there are a problem with a tag close.

Denis

PS: did you have some text in the subquestion and answer ?
PS2: did you have {NAVIGATOR} in your navigator.pstpl ?

1. There are several HTML errors at your template which might break the tool.

2. As Shnoulle said: Do never copy-paste conetent directly from MS word. Always copy to a raw text editor first.

The HTML issue described above was not the problem. However, I sincerely appreciate your feedback.

We cannot solve the mystery of the next button diseappearing. I decided to delete the question/section causing the problems. Now, there is no next button in the next section. How can it even be possible for it to disappear when I did not edit anything in this section. I have tested this questionnaire literally about 14 times as I developed it. The next button was always present.
This is a massive questionnaire with many many questions. I have currently put more then 40 hours of work into developing it and right now it is completely un-deployable.

I decided to test a simple solution. I copied the entire questionnaire. I am currently testing it and so far the copy is functioning correctly. Fingers crossed! I will post to let you know if the test goes well.

The good news is: The 'copy' version of the question has a next button after section 1. The bas news is now when you complete section 2 I get an error message:

NACPEVAL Survey
The following surveys are available:

Is it possible that my questionnaire is just too large? It has 20 sections and 1800 questions. It has massive amounts of skip logic.

I think the amount of questions might be an issue if there are some security modules like "suhosin" installed which might cause such problems (redirecting the user back to the root page).

I also recommend to update to the latest 1.91 version. You can test if this is fixed at the latest version by testing our online demo which always runs the latest Limesurvey version.
