Yes - of course. I'll just wait, see and keep my fingers crossed that this will actually be solved :-) It I can track the bounces on my final reminder mail wedensday, that would be awesome :-D !

So It works. Problem was that I did not have php5-imap installed...

You can check if you have the imap module installed on your server, by going to global settings, and click the "show phpinfo" button. Then do a ctrl+f for "imap" :-)

feature request: Include a small check for the imap function when people run the script?

It would be nice if LS had a button to list all relevant system parameters required by the bug tracker. I don't have an account control panel, so I had to use joomla's admin panel to pull the php, db, webserver, etc versions.

My server guy played around with it for a bit and it looks to be working now but is still acting strange. He changed the email settings to use smtp relaying through gmails smtp servers.

the bounce messages are showing up in the gmail account I set up.

So I decided to test it. Here's the log of what I did and what happened.

I cleared the sent and reminder date fields (set them to N) and generated an invite to token #2 (which I had used before)
the bounce msg showed up in the gmail account.
but when I hit Bounce processing, it says
0 messages were scanned, none were marked as bounce by the system.
weird.
I added another token with a bogus e-mail (Token #9)
sent the invite
checked and the new bounce msg was in the gmail account.
hit bounce processing and it finally picked up the first one from token #2.
Even tho the new bounce message is in the gmail account for token #9 and has been for 10 minutes, it's still saying
0 messages were scanned, none were marked as bounce by the system.

It's there when I check it via gmails webmail client, but apparently LS isn't seeing it.

out of curiosity I added another token (#10) and generated an invite e-mail.
immediately after sending the invite, I displayed the token data and it had marked token 9 as bounced without me even having to hit the bounce processing button (which has to mean it was detected last time I told it to look, perhaps I missed seeing the message).

so I hit bounce processing and it says it flagged token #10, but does not update the token list for token #10. I hit display tokens and it updated the token list. a LS bug?

last test.
new token #11
sent invite
bounce msg is in the gmail account
cool, bounce processing detected it, but did not update the token listing
I hit display tokens and the token listing was updated to reflect the bounce.
Shouldn't it update the token display after updating e-mail status to bounced?

It did ultimately flag all four e-mails I sent that bounced, but for a while there didn't detect the new bounce e-mails in the gmail account until after I'd sent another invite that bounced.

Any idea what's going on with that? I would assume that when I hit bounce processing, LS checks the gmail account for bounces. Given I verified they are indeed there, why didn't it see the new bounce messages when I hit bounce tracking? That seems strange that sometimes it doesn't and sometimes it does see them.

Anyhow, I'm going to try it next time we send out invites and reminders and will try and keep a log of what happens.

You can add this as a feature request at our feature tracker . Please describe your idea as detailed as possible and try to outline a suitable solution/implementation as well.
