TOPIC: How to split a long question on multiple pages

How to split a long question on multiple pages 3 years 7 months ago #58169

Hi,

I have a question, which contains about 30-40 subquestions (all 5 point Likert scale). Their order should be randomized and they should be distributed on 2-3 pages.

How can I do this without splitting the question manually into several questions and thus do the randomization by myself?

Best regards

Martin

Unfortunately there is no way to split a question across multiple pages.

I've not attempted this but I'd try the following: split the scale evenly over the 2-3 pages perhaps according to subscales of item if they exist, randomise item order within groups, randomise order of group presentation.

The scripting to randomise question and group order is at docs.limesurvey.org/Workarounds%3A+Survey+behaviour

It's not true counterbalacing but it's about as close I think you're going to get without listing all of the items on one page.
