Hi,

I have a few problems with LimeSurvey at the moment.
I've used the search function here at the forum, without success and I've searched for similiar problems on Google, also without success, so therefor I'm here.
I'm not sure, if I've posted in the correct forum category though, if not feel free to move this thread, thanks.

Let me start by saying that I've not myself installed the system on our server, but I am an user with fully administrative rights.
And we're using LimeSurvey 1.9.

So, to the problems.

1: I've created a survey, added my groups & questions.
Now, I try to edit survey settings, and save & continue... but right here I get a message:
"No errors found", and I have to go back a page, which leads me with no changes saved.
If I instead try and edit a question, I, for example, get this message:
"No errors found:delete from [lime_questions_attributes] where qid='16' and attribute<>'display_columns' and attribute<>'hidden' and attribute<>'page_break' and attribute<>'public_statistics' and attribute<>'scale_export' and 1=1"

2: Let's say I want to edit the template for my survey, firstly I have to copy the template in order to make some changes. I press copy, and I get this message:
"Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in C:\..\limesurvey\admin\templates.php on line 1174"

3: This time, I want to import a survey structure that someone else has made for me, but I'm gonna host it. Here the message I get:
"An error occured when the file was uploaded. This may have been due to incorrect permissions in your C:\..\limesurvey\tmp-folder." (Note: This has been translated by myself)

4: Now I got as far as getting some responses in for my survey. And I wish to see my responses in statistics in a PDF. I get this message:
"Fatal error: Call to undefined function imagecreatefrompng() in C:\..\limesurvey\admin\classes\tcpdf\tcpdf.php on line 4760

Those are the problems I've stumbled over so far. My thought is that it is all due to the same reason. Incorrect permissions.

What do we need to do to solve this? Or what would you believe is the issue?

I'm thankful for every response I can get on this issue.

Thanks in advance.

dece1ve/Andreas.

1. Are messages like this outputted all the time when working at the admin backend? I have never seen this before.

2. This is a simple permission problem. Scripts are not allowed to create folders on the server because of too strict permissions or insuffficient rights. There are three folders which have to be writeable: /tmp, /upload and /templates (and all subfolders there). Your admin should be able to fix this.

3. See above, probavbly the /tmp folder isn't writeable.

4. Check if the files mentioned exist and maybe re-upload them in binary mode, they might have been broken during upload.
Also search the forum/manual for TCPDF, maybe there is also am library missing at your server.

Thanks for your answer!

1. Messages like that shows when I either try edit the survey settings or a question. I can create them, I just can't edit them. Except for this I haven't seen those messages, like for example I can edit groups.
Maybe this has something to do with permissions as well? Lacking the permission to modify perhaps?

2 & 3. Thanks, that solved the problem.

4. Still haven't tried to solve it, will come back to it.

If there is of any extra help, we are using SQL Server.

1. I can also add this message I just received when trying to delete a survey:
"Delete conditions failed DELETE FROM lime_conditions WHERE qid=66 No errors found"

Maybe some files were broken during upload. you can try to re-upload all files in binary mode.

Also: Which build (4 digit number shown at the bottom of the admin screen) of 1.90 do you use?

We looked in the config.php and '$debug = 0'. We changed it 1 instead, but the messages were still the same.

Sorry, I'm out of ideas about this output. You have to ask your provider/ISP if they have any weird modules installed that might cause such an output.

If you can't solve the probem, have a look at www.LimeService.com which is a hosting service optimized for Limesurvey.

Okey, big thanks for the effort though!

If we manage to solve this, I'll try to get back and summarize what we did etc. if by any chance someone else gets a similiar problem.
