Remove {QUESTION_MANDATORY} from question.pstpl.

That is a really weird template. Is it one of the standard templates that come with Limesurvey?
Have a look at the manual! It is a really valuable source for information. Here some helpful links:

Nevermind, I fixed it. For whatever reason none of the classes are defined in the template, they are in the startpage.pstpl

What did you fix?

I have used the actual build and just added
.asterisk {
  display: none;
}

to the template.css of mint_idea. I cleared the cache from the browser (very important when css html is changed) and reloaded the survey. The asterisk is hidden.

So no mystery thing with mint_idea.

My company uses a template that was written before I got here (unfortunately) and the asterisk class was never defined anywhere, nor is it even referenced for mandatory questions .

I defined the asterisk class in the survey.pstpl page, added code to hide the asterisk in the css template, cleared my cache, and it worked.

Now if only I could so easily remove bullet points before all questions with multiple answer options/subquestions.

Search in the forum, this came up just this week and there was a solution provided.

If you can activate a sample survey we can have a look at the source and advise on how to nuke the bullets :laugh:.

I see. Do you know how old the template is? Over the time the css and parts of the templates changed. Often to start from scratch was the easiest solution to prevent running in bugs after wards. Over time the crossbrowser compatibility is lacking if sticking to the old modifed templates. But it is a trade-off.

That's probably due to an update to the latest version. There are 2 lines of CSS you can add, search the forum for "bullets".

That link doesn't work. Is the survey activated?
