Differentiate survey location was created by Greyfox13
Is it possible to have the data of a filled out survey save where it was filled out?
For example for using the same survey on two websites to compare them and the survey responses contain the answer without the user having the possibility of messing with it.

Sorry, it is not very clear what you want to do.

What exactly do you mean with "where"? Geographical location? I assume not.

I guess you want to identify the website from where the respondent was recruited from, correct? How do you get the respondent to the survey? Opening an invitation layer containing a link to the survey? Then you could add a URL parameter to your survey link and write it into a hidden (via CSS) question.

Usually you can also record the referrer URL, but I am not sure how reliable this is. I personally would set up different surveys and do the analysis in a different program, but this is personal preference, I guess.

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

Oh, yes I can see how I can be misunderstood sorry,

And yes it is the second option trying to get what site the respondent originated from.

Could you elaborate the URL parameter and hidden css solution or give me a link to a guide?

I tried it with prefilled answers passed down in the URL but that didn't work at all.

I also tried using referrer but most of the time it ended up leaving the field blank which goes in tune with your doubting of the reliability.

Different surveys would work as a fallback I would rather have all bundled together though.

Sorry again for the rather shoddy phrasing.

This should work fine. What LimeSurvey version are you using?
