Hi

apologies for posting two questions in the same forum post, but i thought it might be easier than doing separate posts. I've been looking through this forum and elsewhere on the internet, but can't find anything regarding either of these issues so....

1. i have a yes/no type question that i want defaulted to NO - at the moment no radio button is selected, but ideally i would like NO to always be selected at the start. is this possible?

2. slightly harder this one. as part of the survey i am writing, i am collecting user's email addresses. what i would like to do is when they complete this survey, it sends a confirmation email to the address it has picked up in the survey. this will be a publicly available survey that any member of the public can fill in. the link to the survey will be on our website, and thats how the survey will be accessed, so the only record of any email address will be the answer in the survey. is this possible at all? i know limesurvey can send out confirmation emails, but i'm not really sure how this works.

Just to add, i've got 'allow public registration' set to No at the moment, so if its as simple as changing this to yes, please let me know

I'm using Limesurvey Version 2.05+ Build 131219

Thanks

1) Use a list-radio type question and you can set a default answer:

2) You can enter a SGQA code in the "Send admin notification email to" fields - manual.limesurvey.org/Creating_a_new_sur..._.26_data_management

.

Hi,

For 1 : you set default value to NO ? It don't work ? If yes : bug report please :)

For 2: you can use Expression manager in Survey settings/Send basic admin notification email to: : then something like {EMAIL} where EMAIL is the code of the question.

using the yes/no option, you don't have the option to set a default answer (which is what I was using)

Changed it to list, and now I can set a default answer, so that's great (i'm assuming there is no way to do it with the yes/no option?)

and following the email instructions from tpartner, that is working fine as well now as well.

Thank you very much for your help... its so easy when you know how :)

This seems like a bug to me.
Why can't you set default values on Yes/No questions in admin interface?

Beacuse we don't do the GUI :). And we have another solution, then no real need of this.

I just stumbled upon this. The upcoming Limesurvey 2.06 will support default answers for yes/no questions.
