Hi,
First of all, Limesurvey(ice) is great.
I use it for recruitment - candidates undertake an online programming test before they are invited for face to face interview.

Since they have to enter C code as part of their response, there are 2 problems:
  • White space, including carriage returns are stripped out
  • Text is often truncated (in the response, but not in the email), bu the character <, for example: for(int i=0;i<10;i++) - everything after the < is truncated.

Any solutions to these 2 problems?

BTW, just upgraded to V1.91+ and the whitespace issue was not a problem before (not sure what version that was)

Thanks

Hello,

Sometimes best is to use < textarea > in your question text. And deactivate XSS protection.

Thanks for the tip...

Quickly tried this and it creates an extra text area IN the question text.
Not sure if that's what you meant?

Try version 1.92+. I inserted that content into a large text question and it worked fine (could use previous to go back to the question and see it was unchanged; and the value in the database was also fine.

A bit tricky: I am using LimeService, and it tells me that there is no newer version than 1.91+ available.

It's like I mean,
The you can have 'all you want' in textarea.

But the first think to do is : deactivate HTML editor !!

Think it can be done with 1.91 too.

LimeService should be updated to 1.92 in the next week(s). Alternatively you could use a file upload question type anhd ask user to upload their code as a text file.
