I have two surveys, the first of which contains a single password field.

The second survey is the main one and is token based but I want to be able to pass the password from the first survey to the second.

I have created a short textfield on the first page of the second survey and I'm using the End URL of the first survey to pass this info to the second survey. eg limesurvey/index.php?sid=11328&11328X228X1472={INSERTANS:42512X271X1615}

I think the info is getting lost when the user needs to enter their token value at the beginning of the main survey. Is it possible to use the PASSTHRU fields and perhaps some Javascript to populate the field instead?

At the end of the main survey I want to redirect the user back to the start of the main survey with the password again. Think of this as a data entry operator who logs in once with a password and completes a batch of interviews.

Cheers
Paul

Usually having to enter a token shouldn't cause the passed parameters to get lost, but maybe it's a bug?

If you temporarily disable tokens at the second survey and call it by using an URL like limesurvey/index.php?sid=11328&11328X228X1472=mypassword, does the passed password get entered at the question?

Using PASSTHRU might be an altenative, just give it a shot.

Hi Mazi

I think it might be a bug because the PASSTHRU variables get lost too.

I had to get around it by using another survey in the middle of these two where the user enters the token value into a short textfield and then I send them to the main survey using the redirect end URL with the token value in the link.

It works fine but I guess the proper method should be fixed.

Cheers

Please test if the problem still exists at the latest release. If so please open a ticket at the bugtracker and...
  1. Give as much information as possible
  2. Attach your survey. You can mark your ticket "private" so that only the developers will be able to take a look at it.
  3. Provide step-by-step instructions how to reproduce the problem.
  4. If possible/helpful please provide screenshots

Afterwards please post the link to the bugtracker so we can follow the progress.

Thanks!
