I want to send a confirmation to people who have filled in a questionaire. I don't want to use the token system because I don't know in advance who will answer the survey.

I don't think it's possibly now is it?

Maybe add an answer option: e-mail
with an additional option to check the email for correctness.
with an additional option to send the results of the survey to this e-mail address

At survey settings -> notification there is a field "email response to", see docs.limesurvey.org/Creating+a+new+surve..._amp_data_management
