I have data in a mySQl database that I would like to share with a colleague who has a limesurvey version of our common protocol (field names for survey questions are the same). If I export the data in a .csv format would he then be able to import it into his limesurvey database using the .csv file?
If so what would be the procedure to follow?

Thanks

I,

What do you want to share exactly ?

You can have copy of survey (with response) with Survey Archive.

Thanks for your response

My colleague uses LimeSurvey - I use a different software solution but we ask the same questions and use the same field names.

I have response data (answeres from users) that I would like to give him. It is stored in a mySQL database and I can export it as an excel or .csv file.

I see with LimeSurvey that you can import tokens from a .csv file for survey participants. I was wondering if he could do this to create tokens for each of my survey participants in his database. Then would it be possible for him to import the corresponding responses - matching by the token.

This would avoid him having to manually re-enter all the data.
Hope this is clearer

I think it makes much more sense to match the results outside of Limesurvey and the other software.

I think importing results from another survey tool just doesn't make sense.
Have a look at the manual! It is a really valuable source for information. Here some helpful links:

Hi,

It's possible but need some complicated system with 2.00 .
You can have a look to manual.limesurvey.org/Exporting_results/..._and_VVImport_.28.29 .

It's more easy in 2.05, but still an issue with 'same token=> same line"
bugs.limesurvey.org/view.php?id=8311

Take the vote tallies ;) if you want this to be in 2.05 system.
