[done] error importing a CSV survey 1 Year, 3 Months ago

I've created a survey, which I intend to use as a base for several similar surveys. I've exported the survey to a CSV and then tried to import it back in (without making changes).
I get the error: Import of this survey file failed
File does not contain LimeSurvey data in the correct format.
What is the correct format?
I'm using 1.5
thanks for any assistance...

Hi,
With which version were you doing the export?
Can you provide your survey? Open a post in the bugtracker and attach it, You can mark the post as private, if your survey is confidental.
Another possibility is, try to import your survey on the LimeSurvey-Demo-Site. Tell us if it works for you.

...tried to upload the file on the online demo - got exactly the same error message.
I'm writing out a bugtracker now - just need to wait for some details on PHP version and the like.
Thanks

I had the same problem in 1.49RC2.
I solved it by using another Question-name or Code (in a list). If I remember well I used "TYPE" as name and changed it in something like "TYP1"
That solved my problem. Seems sort of reserved-word related
Now I'm using 1.50 and doing Export/import all the time without problems

And you did this in the QUESTIONS TABLE section of your csv file?
Under which section header did you have to change your data?:
qid, sid, gid, type, title, question, preg, help, other, mandatory, lid, question_order, language
I'm on v1.52

No, I did it in the Original Survey, exported again followed by the Import

ok - I have now successfully imported the file.
The first time I exported a CSV file, I did so by opening it to Excel and then saving it again (as a CSV file).
The second time, I exported the CSV file directly to a folder without opening it in Excel. This one, I imported back in successfully.
So for now, if i want to make changes I'll just open the csv file in notepad or some such, and see if that resolves the issue. I have left a note in the bugtracker indicating that I think excel is causing the problem...

Just a quick look at the difference between a clean file and one edited with excel shows that excel removed the quotes (" around each object.
