Hi,

i collected some long texts having a survey. The texts are completely saved in database (i can see while "Browsing Responses". But when i export my survey to excel - then some fields don't contain the whole text.

It seems to me as if there is a cut... Maybe 150 characters are rendered and then in the moddle of a word it breaks.

Is this behaviour known?

i just found a surprising information: after 255 characters the output gets lost!

that is a magic number

maybe this helps to solve the problem...

Upgrade to the latest version; on my knowledge this has been fixed in the meantime!

we nedded to customize some PHP code... so the migration to 1.70 wont be as easy as usual... hmmm.

Is it possible to export the data from 1.53 - import in a local version of 1.70 and excel export it from there?

i have fond the bugfix here (Bugtracker)

01476: Character Limit on exporting Long Free Text-Question to .XLS or .CSV

Is there a way to get to know what the fix looks like? i just know that in 1.60 it was fixed...

I guess it is more easy for me to path a PHP file instead of upgrading... cause of the things mentionend above

Maybe you can find out more in the changelog.

Otherwise contact El-Matador or c_schmitz and ask which file has been updated. Then you can compare your version and the updated one and take over the fix into your version.
