I want to validate the total input for a multiple numeric question based upon a previous question, but I can't figure out how to reference the previous question when in the 2nd question's validation option. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Example:


Single numeric input
#1 How many pets do you have?


Multiple numeric input
#2 How many are:
dogs
cats
fish
other

The total for question #2's multiple inputs should match the answer in question #1.

In general I would say that this is not possible.

You can have a look at manual -> SGQA identifier and manual -> workarounds.

SGQA identifier are used to embed previous answers. In the workaround chapter you can find some examples which might be helpful regarding your problem.

If you find a suitable solution please let us know and add it to the workarounds.
