hi there,
first of all i'm using limesurvey 1.70+(4690). that said, i'd like to address my problem.
i would like to offer some incentives for survey-participation and don't know how to handle it.
i can't give incentives to everyone, so i deceided to run a lottery.
in order to this, i need to collect the email-addresses of the participants.
however, these need to be saved seperately from the questionaire-db and furthermore i need to secure, that people can't enter email-adresses without having answered the questions. furthermore the lottery participation needs to be voluntary. people who value privacy higher than the chance to win something should be able to preserve their privacy.
i'd like to add, that i searched the whole site and couldn't find anything adressing this issue. bare with me and drop me a link, if something similar has been discussed before.
i hope somebody can help me in someway. thanks in advance for any support.
greetings,
johan

Have a look at manual -> assessments.
Perhaps you can set up a survey and create a last question "Do you like incentives?". Use assessments on this question and if the user choses "Yes" set up the assessment to show a certain text about your incentives and a link to anothr survey on another server (to separate survey data and email adresses). At the other survey just create a single question and ask for the users email adress (you can use a textfield and a regular expression to check the email adress).
Not the best solution but this should work and fullfill your needs.

First of all, let me thank you for your quick reply.
Your thoughts on my behalf were quite helpful. But I got a final question, which troubles me a lot.
Is it really necessary to host the "lottery"-part of my survey on a different server?
Wouldn't it be enough to just have the data stored in a different survey on the same server?
I mean, if I'am logging ips, I can also match them, if they are stored on a second server. And if I don't, I see no problems with storing them on the same server. Am I overlooking something?
Greetings,
Johan
