Had a terrible time getting it to get past creating the tables but am stuck at the admin login. The name and passwords are typed exactly as in the config.php, as created manually in MySql and still get a bad password or user id.

In checking the tables, while they are there, they are empty - not even the admin data was entered into the table when table was finally created.

I installed an Limesurvey about 18 months ago (an older version I'm sure) on a site and it went in smooth as pie, but I can't find a copy of the older version, and can't get this to get past the admin login.

Ideas?

BTW - many web hosts don't permit use of 777 any longer. 755 yes, 777 - no, for obvious reasons.

Hi!

Remove the tables (not the database) and start over with installation.
If you still ge the same result switch $debug to 1 in config.php and retry.
What mysql version are you using?

Not sure what you mean by that - just go into phpMyAdmin and delete the whole thing there?

I changed the user in MySql and when I tried that in the admin login, it jumpedr back to

Error
Could not create database (wpsoca_lisurv)
Access denied for user 'wpsoca_admin'@'localhost' to database 'wpsoca_lisurv'

So, I'm uninstalling everything and starting over.

Any progress?

Yes - success. I just UNinstalled everything on the server side. Then without changing anything on my allready edited copy, reuploaded it all. I recreated the database account and user and ran it from the install folder and it started just fine.
