[done] Question Groups 4 Months, 1 Week ago

i have created a question group, given it a name and a description.
When I tested the survey I didn't like the way it showed the group.
So I thought of removing the field within the php. Then I went into rhe group and changed the name and description values to nothing, saved and it now works.
However, surely if we have to have groups in order to enter questions, should the validation not ensure that upon save, the field contains data? Or is this another feature that we can use if we want.

Hi, plz have a look at the docs - they really contain usefull informations.
If you don't like the presentation ==> edit your template which is in use by your survey.
If you don't enter a description for a group, the group page doesn't get displayed.

Thanks the documentation is excellant. However, I sometimes find anomolies that arent in documentation
The group page may not get displayed if you enter no information when you create it, but once a group gets created and assigned an 'ID' I have been able to remove all text and leave blank name and blank description.
The group appears as an empty entry (at the top) of the drop down list.
Is the validation testing for NULL or EMPTY? If NULL then this would error if no data was entered when you first create a group, however, it will equate to empty if you then remove the data.
It doesn't actually cause any problems, but more of a quirky feature.
Once again, one excellant application.
Regards
Steve

Hi, everything depends also on your survey format (all-in-one, group-by-group, question-by-question).

Hi Steve,
if you think that explanations in the manual are misunderstanding please extend/correct the manual. It's a wiki, everyone can edit it.
If you find any bugs and you can reproduce them with the latest release please open a ticket at the bugtracker.
