conditions across multiple groups 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hey guys,

I have multiple groups in my survey. the last question in the first group determines (using conditions) whether groups 2,3, and 4 are displayed, otherwise group 5 is displayed.
Within group 2, i have a question that will also only show if the answer to a previous question in group 2 is "no". however, that question with two conditions set on it is never showing.

so to be clear, the "question" in question (sorry about that ) has a condition on it that allows it to be shown along with the rest of the questions in the group (this is from the very first group). but then there is a yes/no question in its own group that further determines if the question should be displayed.

so when i get into the second group and select "No" on the question that determines the second condition, it should then show the last question, but it is not.

i hope that is clear and that you are able to help

thanks,
jpearl

Depends...

1.72 is the latest stable release.

1.80 has lots of new features and runs quite stable.

..and the LimeSurvey Development Team only provides bug fixes on base of the latest development version ==> v1.80 branch ==> use v1.80RC2!

Hey... I'm lost with your words I am preparing a very large survey, and I came across the problem of how to set conditions per group. This user is using 1.71+ and from his words it seems like it would be possible to set conditions per group with all the questions within that group inheriting the conditions of the group. From other forum posts, it seems that is not possible. Am I wrong? I am using 1.72+...

is it a feature included in 1.80RC2?

No you are correct - somewhat. Groups cannot have conditions, but if every question in a group has a condition that will prevent any question in a group to show, then it skips the group entirely.

it's because of this issue that i am having my problem. I do agree with you 100% that group conditions should be implemented. If they were, then i believe that i wouldnt be having my problem.

I'm currently downloading the update package...will report back later
